September 2014 Dividend , Options and Interest monthly report

September has been a rocky road. I have bet big on Canadian REITS and so far they are down 4.5% or about $6,800 buck OUCHY. I have stepped up my options trading and now will keep track of the premiums I am getting per month. My strategy has been aggressive APPL put and call options. I am not scared to get assigned as I have plenty of room on my margin account to make such plays. Also since I am using margin now I will also track my interest charges along with my dividends.

Here is my Dividends recieved for September

  1. Wow $2,088.65 in dividend income. Boy you're grinding the dividend income higher and higher. Looks like you've gotten a lot of dividend stocks which means further diversification. Great stuff!

  2. AG,

Those are amazing results. It looks like all that capital you invested a few months back really came through for you in September. Keep up the inspiring work!

  3. Do you need to still be so heavy on the REITs? Your portfolio is already generating a nice growing and stable income why chase high yield as much as you are these days? Still, an awesome month with great passive income earned on the dividend side. Interesting to see how the AAPL options play out going forward. Thanks for sharing.

  6. Solid set of income as a result of the dividends and options trades. Are you planning on just collecting the cash and utilizing that to pay down the margin?

  8. AG,
I am sure your reits will rebound in the long term but how long do you plan on holding for? The dividends that you are getting will eventually catch up to your capital loss. 2k in dividends is crazy and I could live off of that. lol

  9. A-G,

Those REITs are really pulling the cart for you, my friend. I hope that experiment continues to work out for you. :)

In the meanwhile, huge numbers. I'm taking a more conservative approach, but I'm excited for the day I eventually hit income like this. Awesome numbers!

    Best regards.

    1. Yeah they are getting good. I wanted some more immediate returns in case I need to pull some out and budget my expenses in the future. Part of it is visualization with me where I can see how much is coming in and adjust spending accordingly. Ultimate goal is still stack higher and higher!

  11. Those monthly payers are really adding some cash to your totals. I probably won't hit 2k/month in dividends until sometime late next year. Solid month, keep up the good work!

  12. Awesome! Gotta love being able to count on somewhere around $1300 in monthly payers every month! Even if some of that comes from margin and you pay interest on it. You're starting to get more of an avalanche than a snowball!
